Beneath we will show you our events in the last months!
The 19th of November students Alec and Roelof promoted their project Slimme Trapper at the student orientation-day at the NHL! Five FDF-students work on this project in the minor Frisian Design Factory. The goal of the project is to make plasticrecycling innovations accessible for children.
It was a great day, they talked to a lot of students and teachers about their project.
On the 23rd of November we had a pressurecooker about circular building. Together with students, teachers and organizations from the construction sector we talked and brainstormd about the future-issues that we expect based on recent research. In the pressurecooker we used service design and lean start-up methodologies.
Bouwlab Leeuwarden was organized by Buro Bouwblok, a partnership between FDF, WeThinkNext and Crowd&Co.
We build the future together!
Students Thomas and Wilmer went to Graz a couple of weeks ago! Along with international students they worked on a small project, this project was part of the European Youth Awards. They went to lecture, workshops and off course the award ceremony. You can read more about their trip here: http://www.frisiandesignfactory.nl/lorem-ipsum/fdf-op-reis
In one of the last weeks of the year Albert, Eric, Peter and Floris journeyed to IdeaSquare (CERN, Geneva) to meet our fellow Design Factory enthousiasts. We enjoyed a week full of activities, talks, and sessions in which we exchanged ideas, experiences, and lots of hugs. We have among others planned future collaborations with our near friends in Ghent, Belgium, and our not-so-near friends in Melbourne, Australia. Soon we expect design exercises to be executed consecutively through Design Factories around the world, papers on the sharing and passing on of information and design, and exchanges of students, teachers, researchers and other staff to enhance our intercultural identity.
At the 22th of December we had a Christmas event at Paddy O’ryan. This was an event that was organized through the FDF in which all partners from the FDF and the FDF’s friends were invited. Also there was an official transfer between Albert en Peter to manager of the Frisian Design Factory.
