Learning for Innovative Design for Sustainability

The Frisian Design Factory/NHL is one of the Dutch partners in a new European project funded by Erasmus+, within the sustainable business and educational innovation field. Under the name ‘Circular Design: Learning for Innovative Design.

For Sustainability’, this initiative will enhance the creation and consumption of sustainable products and services, aligned with European Circular Economy policies. The other Dutch partners are House of Design (Groningen) and Better Future Factory (Rotterdam).

The project focuses on a knowledge co-creation process on development of training materials to teach and train students, faculty and enterprise staff of the design sector in Circular Design – Innovative Design for Sustainability strategies.

Conversaties over de rol van ontwerpen in Hong Kong

Floris van der Marel en Peter Joore zijn woensdag 7 juni tot en met vrijdag 9 juni naar de Design Management Academy conferentie [http://designmanagementacademy.com/dma2017/] in Hong Kong gegaan. Deze conferentie stond in het teken van ‘Research Perspectives on Creative Intersections’, of, in gewone mensentaal, de rol van ontwerpmanieren van denken en doen in andere vakgebieden.

Studenten FDF participeerden in a Global Product Design Hackathon

Van 26 t/m 28 april jongstleden werkten 18 studenten, docenten en ondersteunend personeel mee aan de wereldwijde Design Hackathon. 6 Design Factories, uit Helsinki, Porto, Chili, Bogota, Cali en Leeuwarden werkten mee. Vanuit de Frisian Design Factory werkten de deelnemers aan een opdracht van het Rode Kruis.
